Action Alert – Push Your MP to become a Heat Pumps for All champion! 🤝
The number of MPs across the country who have pledged their support for Heat Pumps for All keeps growing! We currently have 15 MP Champions who’ve pledged their support, but we need more to win a truly universal heat pump program 🔥
We’ve set up an easy email tool that makes it easy for you to reach out and get your MP on board with the Heat Pumps for All campaign, so take action now and share with your friends!
EMAIL YOUR MP
If you’ve already emailed your MP, then you can sign up here to request a meeting with your MP about the campaign demands. Once you sign that form, we’ll send you tips on how to request a meeting with your MP and pressure them into becoming an MP Champion!
Highlights from Across the Country: MP Meetings ✅
Folks from all over the country have been meeting with their MPs to get them on board with the campaign. Check out these photos of some local petition leaders from across BC with their MPs!

We know it can be intimidating to meet with your MP in-person, but it’s one of the most effective tools to get them on board with a campaign. If you’re on the fence about securing a meeting, then email us at canada.organizing@350.org to talk it over!
🔥Hot Heat Pump Fact🔥
Did you know that all of the current federal government heat pump incentive programs, and most provincial or regional ones, exclusively cater to homeowners? Since roughly one third of Canadians are tenants, this excludes a lot of people from the cost-saving and health benefits of heat pumps. Heat Pumps for All is fighting for a genuinely universal program so that tenants also benefit from having a free heat pump provided and installed in their homes or apartments.
Across the country, we’ve also seen more and more cases of landlords using retrofits or green energy initiatives as excuses to jack up rent prices or evict tenants. This form of greenwashing is unacceptable. We are proposing a program with built-in tenant protections to ensure that the installation of this lifesaving technology cannot be used to kick people out of their homes.
In The News 📰
While we’re on the topic of renter-friendly heat pump programs, check out this example of a tenant-oriented program in New York City. The technology already exists, we just need the political will to follow!
That’s it for this week’s newsletter update, we’ll keep you posted about new opportunities to engage with the campaign in our next one!
